This streamlined setup removes the need for separate logins and makes it easy for instructors to manage Walter AI Tutor — while giving students direct access to a targeted, course-aware AI support.

What You’ll Get with the Blackboard–Walter Integration

🧩 Walter AI Tutor as a Course Tool

Walter AI Tutor appears under Build Content as a selectable option within each course. It functions like any other tool in Blackboard, giving students and faculty direct access to course-specific AI support.

🤖 Automated Agent Setup

The first time Walter is launched within a Blackboard course, a new AI agent is automatically created and mapped to that course’s ID — no manual setup required by faculty.

🎯 Course Content Integration

Walter can reference files, pages, and documents within the Blackboard course, enabling personalized and context-aware assistance for students.

🔐 Admin Portal Access with LTI 1.3 SSO

Faculty can securely access the Noodle Factory admin portal directly from Blackboard — no separate login credentials needed.

⚙️ Default Visibility in Course Tools

The Walter AI Admin link appears by default under the Course Tools section for each course, enabling quick access to configuration and insights.


How to Set Up the Blackboard Integration (Super admin Only)

✅ Step 1: Open the Integration Setup in Noodle Factory

  1. In the Noodle Factory Admin Portal, click your profile menu (top right).
  2. Click on Organisation Dashboard
  3. Select Integrations.
  4. Choose Canvas LMS.
  5. Leave this tab open — you’ll copy values from this page into Canvas.

✅ Step 2: Register Walter AI as an LTI 1.3 Tool Provider

  1. Log in to Blackboard as an Administrator.
  2. Navigate to Administrator Panel → Integrations → LTI Tool Providers.
